Stardew Valley Teen Social Skills Therapy Group (Ages 13–17) – Virtual Support for ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, and Anxiety

Helping neurodivergent teens build confidence, connection, and real-life social skills—one Stardew Valley adventure at a time.

If your teen struggles with making friends, working as part of a team, or navigating conversations without feeling awkward or misunderstood, you’re not alone. Many neurodivergent teens—especially those with ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, and Anxiety—want to connect but feel unsure of what to say, when to speak, or how to read social cues. You may have noticed them talking down about themselves, avoiding group activities, or coming home frustrated after social interactions.

This Stardew Valley–based social skills group offers something different: a safe, engaging space where teens can practice real-life communication, teamwork, and problem-solving as situations naturally unfold in the game. Instead of abstract role-play, we work in the moment—coaching through challenges like dividing tasks, handling mistakes, and adapting when plans change. This real-time feedback helps teens connect the dots between their actions and positive outcomes, boosting self-esteem and social confidence.

Your teen won’t just be playing a game—they’ll be learning how to collaborate, compromise, and communicate in ways that transfer directly to school, friendships, and life. And because Stardew Valley provides a relaxed, low-pressure setting, they can try new approaches without fear of judgment—building skills while building a sense of belonging

We meet on Google Meet and play together on a private Stardew Valley server. Teens practice real‑world social skills in a supportive theraputic enviorment.

Skills Your Teen Will Practice:

  • Flexible thinking – adapting to changes and new ideas without frustration

  • Impulse control – practicing not interrupting or talking over others

  • Teamwork & collaboration – working toward shared in‑game goals

  • Building self‑esteem – feeling more confident in social situations

  • Reducing isolation – connecting with peers who understand them

  • Emotional regulation – learning strategies to stay calm and focused

Why This Group Works for Neurodivergent Teens:

For many neurodivergent teens, traditional social skills groups can feel uncomfortable, forced, or even intimidating. Sitting in a circle and “practicing” conversations out of context often doesn’t stick—especially for teens with ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, or Anxiety.

That’s because these teens often process social situations in the moment far more effectively than they do after the fact. When feedback comes hours or days later, the emotional connection to the event is gone. But when coaching happens right as a challenge unfolds—whether it’s deciding who will water the crops, negotiating which building to construct next, or working through frustration after a plan changes—it clicks.

This Stardew Valley–based therapy group is run by Victoria Prisco, Creative Arts Therapist, Special Education Teacher, and Licensed Professional Counselor. Real-life social scenarios emerge naturally during gameplay, and Victoria steps in at just the right moments to:

  • Guide conversations without making them feel staged

  • Offer strategies teens can try instantly, while the moment is still fresh

  • Help them recognize and celebrate small successes right away

This real-time skill building helps teens:

  • See how their choices affect the group dynamic

  • Experience the positive results of trying new communication strategies

  • Build confidence through repeated, successful interactions

  • Strengthen executive functioning skills like planning, organization, and flexible thinking
