Therapy for Adults with ADHD and Autism (AuDHD)

Support for Neurodivergent Adults Who Think, Feel, and Process Differently

If you’re an adult with ADHD and Autism—or you suspect you may have autistic traits—you’ve likely spent your life masking, overthinking, and trying to fit into systems that weren’t built for your brain.

Maybe you’re just now realizing that your “quirks” might be more than just personality. Or perhaps you’ve already been diagnosed, but traditional therapy hasn’t resonated with the way your mind works.

I’m Victoria Prisco, a licensed therapist, ADHD Specialist, and neurodivergent clinician who offers practical, validating, and solution-focused therapy for adults with ADHD, Autism (AuDHD), or suspected neurodivergence.

My approach is neurodivergent-affirming, collaborative, and customized to how your brain actually functions.

Autism, ADHD, AuDHD

You Might Be AuDHD If You...

  • Burn out quickly from social situations, even if you’re good at masking

  • Struggle with executive dysfunction and sensory sensitivity

  • Hyperfocus, but also deal with motivation crashes or shutdowns

  • Feel deeply misunderstood or emotionally intense

  • Experience black-and-white thinking or need clear structure

  • Feel like you’re “too much” or “not enough”—sometimes at the same time

  • Have a history of misdiagnosis, burnout, or being called “lazy” or “sensitive”

What Do ADHD and Autism Look Like Together in Adults?

Living with both ADHD and Autism—often referred to as AuDHD—can create a unique and complex experience. For many adults, especially those diagnosed later in life, recognizing how these two neurotypes overlap can bring a deep sense of clarity.

🔄 Overlapping Traits

Adults with both ADHD and Autism may experience symptoms from both conditions, such as:

  • ADHD traits: difficulty focusing, time blindness, impulsivity, restlessness

  • Autism traits: sensory sensitivities, social fatigue, a need for routine, intense interests

These traits can appear together or take turns being more dominant, depending on your environment, stress level, or life stage.

🧩 Complex Interactions

The way ADHD and Autism interact is highly individual. For example:

  • You might struggle with motivation and task initiation (ADHD) and feel overwhelmed by sensory input or changes in routine (Autism).

  • You may appear highly social but feel socially exhausted or misunderstood, due to masking and camouflaging.

  • You might be extremely detail-focused in some areas and easily distracted in others.

🌱 It Doesn’t Look the Same for Everyone

AuDHD can show up differently for each person. Some adults experience more ADHD-driven challenges, while others identify more strongly with Autism traits. You may have gone undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for years, especially if you’re a woman or part of a marginalized group.

The important thing to know: you’re not “too much” or “too scattered”—you’re living in a world not built for how your brain works.

What Therapy Looks Like for AuDHD Adults

This isn’t traditional talk therapy that expects you to mold yourself into neurotypical patterns. My approach is neurodivergent-affirming, collaborative, and customized to how your brain and body actually function.

In our sessions, we may work on:

  • Identifying and unmasking autistic or ADHD traits that you’ve hidden for survival

  • Understanding how executive dysfunction, sensory overload, and emotional dysregulation are connected

  • Developing systems that actually work for your brain—without shame

  • Addressing burnout, rejection sensitivity, and internalized ableism

  • Navigating relationships, work, and identity through a neurodivergent lens

  • Exploring self-diagnosis and preparing for formal evaluations if desired

Whether you have a diagnosis or not, your experience is real and valid.
